Dr. Kelly Koo specializes in driving sustainable behavior change at the individual, team, and organizational levels. She helps leaders and organizations navigate change by working with—rather than against—the natural human emotions that surface during transformation, providing leadership development, executive coaching, change management, team effectiveness, and small-group mediation services.
Grounded in multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications, Dr. Koo’s approach is both evidence-based and highly practical. She is consistently re-engaged for her authentic, relatable style and her ability to facilitate candid, challenging conversations that strengthen connection and trust. Over a decade of designing and leading an annual, day-long program on identity and trauma-informed change management, 100% of participants recommended her as an exceptional facilitator and designer of bespoke learning experiences. Kelly’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and workplace mental health, combined with her ability to quickly identify root causes of entrenched patterns, enables her to help leaders and teams address complex challenges with clarity, rigor, and compassion, driving lasting change.
Kelly earned her BA from University of California, Berkeley and her MS and PhD from the University of Washington, the highest ranked doctoral program for Clinical Psychology while attending. She is also Adjunct Clinical faculty for the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at The Wright Institute and a Volunteer Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UC San Francisco. Dr. Koo is also parttime staff within Alameda Health Systems working toward decreasing mental health stigma in the field of medicine through systemic change and continues to provide evidence-based psychotherapy for diverse adults with trauma, using cultural humility and acceptance-based frameworks.
